India, Aug. 7 -- She's had a long, illustrious career, but actor Catherine Zeta-Jones says she was "humbled" when director Tim Burton asked her to play Morticia Addams in Wednesday. After a recurring role in season 1, the actor is returning for the sophomore season, this time as a series regular. Speaking to us, she shares, "Going to work with beautiful human beings like Tim Burton, (actors) Luis Guzman, Jenna Ortega, and the rest of the fantastic cast - it doesn't get better than this. I am humbled that the world is as excited to see the show as I was while shooting it." The first part of season 2 dropped on Netflix yesterday, while part two follows on September 3. This time, the show takes a closer look at Wednesday's (Jenna Ortega) dynamic with the rest of the Addams clan. Talking about bringing the eclectic family to life for this iteration, Catherine says, "I was honoured that Tim envisioned me as his Morticia. Yes, [the Addams are] quirky and outcasts, but they allow the children to be different. There are families where children are on the sidelines, but Morticia and Gomez Addams want their kids to be seen, to be heard." The actor, whose love for India is well-documented, says, "You know how much I visit India, I always want to come back." She then draws parallels between the Addams and traditional Indian families: It is a country based on strong, rooted family values. You have aunties, uncles, grandmothers... that's the core mentality of the Addams family, too." Probe about her deep-seated connection with the country - the 55-year-old has often spoken about her love for Bollywood and taken multiple trips with her family here - and she quips, "How long have you got?" Catherine adds, "When I was younger, it was always a place I wanted to visit; but at a certain age I was like, 'It'll never live up to my expectations.' But India surpassed my expectations and more. I've never felt as rooted as I do here - it doesn't happen in any other country other than India."...
