How Jamie is cracking up sara ka sara internet with mimicry
India, May 4 -- Actor-comedian Jamie Lever has the internet in ROFL mode, just in time for World Laughter Day today. Jamie's impression of actor Sara Ali Khan in her latest video - 1 Min of Sara Ali Khan - has racked up 3.8 million views, with fans writing: "You've done Sara better than Sara!"
"I've done several videos mimicking senior actors, but this time, I wanted to try impersonating someone from the new generation," the daughter of comedy legend Johnny Lever tells us in a candid tete-a-tete. "It took hours of watching clips from her interviews and film scenes to nail her body language and mannerisms," Jamie says.
Ask how her impressions manage to hit the sweet spot and the 37-year-old shares a tip her dad gave her: "Dad taught me that mimicry should never be mean. It should make people laugh in good humour and I follow that."
It's clearly paid off: "A lot of celebs I mimic reach out to me with love and some even say 'Mujhpe bhi (video) banao!' There are also those who love my humour, but can't say it because I might have made a video on their friend (laughs)."
The comedian also adds that humour shouldn't be censored. "If something makes one person laugh but not another, that's okay! There is no need to curtail humour... just live and let live," she ends....
