Honey Deuce: The cocktail winning big at the US Open
India, Sept. 6 -- The Honey Deuce, created in 2006 by restaurateur Nick Mautone, has become as iconic to the US Open as the matches themselves. As the tournament unfolds this year, the signature cocktail is once again in high demand - in 2024 alone, over 5.5 lakh were sold, cementing its cult status courtside.
The drink gets its name from two inspirations: the frozen honeydew melon garnish - scooped into tennis ball-like spheres - and "deuce," the tennis term for a tie. Served in a souvenir glass, it's a refreshing mix of vodka, lemonade and raspberry liqueur, topped with three frozen melon balls....
