India, Aug. 27 -- On September 12, actor Manoj Bajpayee is set to return to theatres with Jugnuma, titled The Fable in English, a film that seamlessly blurs the boundaries between the real and the surreal. Written and directed by Raam Reddy, the magical-realism drama is set in the late 80s amidst the lush fruit orchards of the Indian Himalayas, where Dev (Bajpayee) encounters mysteriously charred trees. As the fires spread, so does the haunting truth about him and his family. Backing this ambitious tale are two of Indian cinema's most fearless creative voices - Academy Award winner Guneet Monga Kapoor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap - who have joined the project as Executive Producers. The film has already carved an impressive festival journey, having premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival, won Best Film at the Leeds International Film Festival, and taken home the Special Jury Prize at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Now, it is poised for its much-anticipated Indian theatrical release. For Reddy, who won global acclaim for his debut Thithi (2015), the release is the culmination of a long-held dream: "The film was designed to be a larger-than-life sensory experience, and I always envisioned it being seen on the big screen." With dialogues written by Varun Grover, Jugnuma will be distributed across India by Flip Films. Ranjan Singh of Flip Films says, "I am confident that the film will remain with audiences long after they've seen it." Jugnuma (The Fable) is written and directed by Raam Reddy and stars Manoj Bajpayee, alongside Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu, and Awan Pookot. Produced by Prspctvs Production in collaboration with Maxmedia and Sikhya Entertainment, the film is presented by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. Distributed in India by Flip Films & Cinepolis, it will release theatrically on September 12, 2025. HTC...
