India, Sept. 2 -- W hen Farhan Akhtar announced Jee Le Zaraa in 2021 - with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif as the leading trio - fans celebrated it as Bollywood's long-overdue female-led road trip film. But ever since, the film has faced multiple delays, sparking speculation about whether it would ever be made. Now, the actor-filmmaker has finally offered clarity. Speaking to the YouTube channel Our Stupid Reactions, Farhan stressed that the film is "not shelved" and remains very much alive: "I would hate to say that it's shelved. What I will say is that it has been put on the back burner. It is a film that will happen. Again, I don't know when it will be. But it's too delicious a script and there's so much work that has already been done on it." Farhan revealed that he has completed location scouting and even recorded music for the project, though he stopped short of confirming whether the original cast remains intact: "I can't comment on the cast anymore, like what that will be and when that will land. But will the film happen? Ya, it will." Earlier in 2024, Alia had also shared her optimism about the project, admitting that scheduling conflicts had posed major hurdles.
