Diddy's lawyers celebrate verdict even as he faces prison term
India, July 4 -- Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was convicted of prostitution-related charges but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering, avoiding a life sentence. He now faces a maximum of 10 years in prison. His lawyers have hailed the mixed verdict as a "great victory."
"It's a great victory for Sean Combs, and for the jury system. One thing stands between all of us and a prison, and that is a jury of 12 citizens," said Combs' lead counsel, Marc Agnifilo, adding that the jurors "got the situation right or, certainly, right enough."
The jury delivered its mixed verdict after an eight-week trial, where 34 witnesses - including ex-girlfriends and former employees - accused Diddy of crimes ranging from kidnapping and arson to rape and assault.htc...
