Christian Bale undergoes extreme makeover for Madden
India, June 7 -- Actor Christian Bale has once again stunned fans with a dramatic transformation for his new role. The 51-year-old was recently spotted on the Atlanta (USA) set of the upcoming film Madden, looking nearly unrecognisable in character as Al Davis, the late American football coach and owner of the NFL team Oakland Raiders.
He was photographer with a receding hairline wig and bleached eyebrows, dressed in a white T-shirt, leather jacket, and black slacks. He also wore several large championship rings, a nod to Davis' legacy with the Raiders.
This kind of physical commitment is nothing new for Christian. He famously dropped over 60 pounds (over 27kg) for The Machinist (2004) and then bulked up only months later for Batman Begins (2005). In American Hustle (2013), he packed on weight and adopted a comb-over to play conman Irving Rosenfeld. And in the Dick Cheney biopic Vice (2018), he gained weight and altered his posture and voice to portray the former US Vice President, winning a Golden Globe for his performance.
In Madden, Christian will feature alongside Nicholas Cage, who will portray the titular role of John Madden. The film documents John's rise from coaching the Raiders to a Super Bowl XI victory in 1977 to becoming one of football's most iconic broadcasters and finally to lending his name to the iconic Madden NFL video game franchise.htc...
