Celebrating stories and Old Delhi
India, Aug. 1 -- There was an easy charm to the evening on Tuesday as friends, readers, and writers gathered in the Capital to celebrate Across the River, a new novel by Bhaichand Patel.
Author-diplomat Pavan K Varma, author Namita Gokhale, and media personality Sunit Tandon joined the author on stage to discuss Patel's love for Old Delhi, its charm, its people, and the place it holds in his book. "I love Delhi. I first came here at 19 and have lived here since retiring in 1993. The book is partly inspired by my life, especially my love for Old Delhi," he shared.
Across the River follows Seema and Madhu, two young women from different worlds, brought together by friendship and tested by love, class, and identity.
