Artemis II crew splashes down after historic Moon mission
India, April 12 -- The Artemis II crew safely splashed down in the Pacific Ocean at 8.07pm ET (5.37am IST, April 11) on April 10, marking the end of a historic 10-day mission around the Moon, the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years.
The Orion capsule, named Integrity, landed off the coast of San Diego, California, where recovery teams aboard the USS John P Murtha retrieved the astronauts.
The crew, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Hammock Koch and Jeremy Hansen, were reported to be in good health following their return. After splashdown, the astronauts will undergo medical checks before being flown to NASA's Johnson Space Center. The spacecraft will be transported to Kennedy Space Center for further evaluation.
