India, Sept. 22 -- In collaboration with KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad, Artemis Hospital has launched its state-of-the-art Heart and Lung Transplant Centre. It was recently inaugurated in the presence of Chairman Onkar S Kanwar, Managing Director Dr Devlina Chakravarty, and Dr Sandeep G Attawar, Program Director & Chair, Thoracic Organ Transplantation & Assist Devices, KIMS Hospitals, Hyderabad. The centre offers a comprehensive range of thoracic transplants and mechanical circulatory support services in North India, providing patients in Gurgaon and the NCR region access to advanced transplant care without the need to travel to the southern part of the country. This new facility reduces travel, costs, and follow-up challenges while offering timely expert care. A distinctive feature of the centre is its dual-state patient registration, which enhances donor matching and significantly improves the chances of timely transplants. Over the past few decades, India has made steady progress in thoracic transplants. While North India has demonstrated strong outcomes in living donor programmes, deceased donations are yet to reach the scale seen in southern and western regions. The Artemis Heart & Lung Transplant Centre has a full range of advanced services, such as heart, lung, and heart-lung transplants. The centre also helps with multi-state transplant listings, patient and family education and 24/7 coordination. htc...
