India, May 12 -- A peejay School, Panchsheel Park, in Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi, recently commenced its 50th-anniversary celebrations, marking a significant milestone in its remarkable journey. The festivities began with a hawan ceremony, invoking blessings from the almighty. The event saw the participation of current students, teachers, parents and a select group of the school's alumni and former educators who joined impromptu. As the year unfolds, the school plans to reconnect with its entire alumni network and past faculty members in celebration. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, shared a heartfelt memory of her father, the late Dr Stya Paul, the school's founder. She recalled, "I am catapulted back to that time when we laid the foundation stone of this school in 1975. I was just 16, and my father asked me to lay the foundation. I questioned why he didn't invite someone more important. That's when he told me that for him, the VIPs were the children - the ones who would be here. And that's who I was representing: the children, from 1975 till now, and those who will come." Sushma also unveiled the school's Golden Jubilee Logo. Established in 1975 to serve the educational needs of South Delhi, Apeejay School occupies an eight-acre campus filled with lush greenery, state-of-the-art infrastructure, air-conditioned classrooms, and comprehensive facilities for sports and co-curricular activities. What was once a stretch of empty land has now grown into a landmark institution, shaping the identity of the area and nurturing generations of students. The school operates under Apeejay Education, which encompasses 26 institutions across India, including Apeejay Stya University in Gurugram. Dr Stya Paul's illustrious legacy of excellence is today being carried forward by Sushma and her children, Nishant, Aditya and Neha, who are also proud alumni. HTC...
