Anupam Kher visits Lalbaugcha Raja, waits in queue
India, Sept. 3 -- Anupam Kher visited the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati pandal in Mumbai on Tuesday for a special darshan, choosing to do so without any VIP access.
The actor shared a video on Instagram showing himself patiently waiting in the queue behind other devotees. In the clip, he is seen bowing his head before the deity, applying a tika on his forehead, and posing for pictures.
"Aaj Lalbaug ke Raja ke darshan ka saubhagya prapt hua. Bina kisi VIP darshan ke intazam ke gaya tha, toh kuch aur accha laga," wrote the 70-year-old.
Anupam also praised the crowd's discipline, stating, "Woh baat alag hai, bhakton ka pyaar aur organisers ki daya bhavna bani rahi. Lakhon ki taadaad mein log aate hain, lekin kamaal ka anushasan aur vyavastha dekh kar garv hota hai. Bhaktjanon ki Ganpati ke prati bhavnaayein atoot hain."
However, the post sparked mixed reactions on social media. While many appreciated his gesture, others questioned the authenticity of a "non-VIP" visit. One comment read, "The love for Ganpati is equal for everyone, but the treatment isn't. Common devotees are even held back at times. So when you say 'no VIP visit,' it doesn't feel accurate."
