Anupam Kher says Naseeruddin apologised in person for 2020 remarks
India, Dec. 1 -- I
n 2020, actor Naseeruddin Shah had called Anupam Kher a "clown" and a sycophant while criticising his pro-government stance on social media. Anupam had responded sharply at the time with a video on X. Now, in a recent conversation with Samdish on YouTube, Kher has revealed that Naseeruddin later apologised to him in person.
Speaking about their equation, Kher said, "I still have great respect for him. However, he sometimes speaks loosely about me. We met recently at HD Pathak's death, where he apologised and said, 'Sorry, yaar.' He hugged me, because I always hug him. I genuinely like him a lot, and he is one of the actors who inspired me to take up acting. But I think sometimes he just says these things." Kher added that despite Shah's brilliance, he often senses "bitterness" in his comments. "He is a brilliant and intelligent man and God has given him so much. Nobody is a bigger star than him in parallel cinema. Yet sometimes his bitterness targets me, sometimes Dilip Kumar, and sometimes Rajesh Khanna."
