Anil Sharma recalls final meeting with late Dharmendra
India, Dec. 9 -- Dharmendra, one of India's most adored superstars, passed away on November 24 at 89, two weeks before his 90th birthday. While he shot his last film Ikkis, he asked director Anil Sharma to write a good role for him.
Anil worked with Dharmendra in Hukumat (1987), Policewala Gunda (1995) and Apne (2007), is close to Deol family. In a recent interview with author Hussain Zaidi for his Youtube channel, he recalled "Went to meet Bobby in September. Dharmendra ji was sitting there. He met me, hugged, and asked, 'What am I doing?'" Anil said, "He told me three times, 'Write an amazing role for me. The camera is my lover and it is calling me.' I promised him I would, didn't know he would pass away months later. Cinema was his love, not a business." Anil planned to reunite with Dharmendra, Sunny, Bobby, and Karan Deol for Apne 2, now reworked as a tribute. HTC...
