Actor Alec Baldwin (67) was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Monday in East Hampton, New York, after his wife Hilaria's (67) Range Rover allegedly collided with a tree. Alec and his brother Stephen were in the vehicle.
According to his Instagram post, a large garbage truck "the size of a whale" cut him off, prompting him to swerve and crash into a "big, fat tree". "To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I crushed my wife's car," he wrote, adding, "I feel bad about that, but it's all fine."
The crash took place amid heavy rain conditions, part of a Nor'easter affecting the northeastern US. Alec and his brother were photographed exiting the vehicle, and both remained on the scene to speak with the police.
Alec later posted a video message thanking the responding officers and expressing remorse over the damage and confirmed plans to travel to California to reunite with his family.
Hilaria also shared an update on Instagram, writing: "I am getting a lot of messages about (the) accident... and I just want you to know that he is okay. Steven is okay, everybody is okay. No one was hurt and that is the most important thing."
