A penned tribute for public service
India, July 30 -- A quiet Sunday afternoon in the Capital turned into a celebration of legacy and public service, as dignitaries and civil servants gathered for the launch of the book Policing and Crime Trends in India authored by IPS officer Dinesh Kumar Gupta.
"My book is a culmination of my journey, inspired by my father, a passionate police officer. He wrote a book, which continues to motivate me. His experiences and writings have instilled in me a sense of duty, resilience and compassion," he said.
IPS Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, lauded the work, calling it an "extensive study, profound understanding, and commitment to view policing as a service to society".
Adding to the praise, Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways, said, "The book offers a comprehensive overview of policing in pre-independence India and its transformation into what it is today."...
