India, July 10 -- Do you often find yourself feeling an acidity and discomfort after your meals? In a recent post on social media, Dr Ravi K Gupta (@dr.ravikgupta), a US-based oncologist and wellness influencer shared a simple hack on Instagram to help reduce the acidic sensation. In the video Dr Gupta, pours himself a cold glass of water, which he then holds in his mouth for a few seconds. The cold sensation, he explains, helps stimulate your vagus nerve to instantly soothe any discomfort. After a few seconds, he recommends drinking the water slowly, while keeping your breathing controlled and measured. Stimulating the vagus nerve (which controls the body's responses during a state of rest) can aid digestion, while a cooling sensation helps temporarily neutralise the stomach acids.
