Recently, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote a letter to the film's makers, urging them to drop Diljit from the film. FWICE also wrote a letter to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, urging them to withdraw the permission to shoot Border 2 at the National Defence Academy in Pune.
