'Mentally, I am still that 20-something- year-old kid from Barsaat!'
India, Oct. 9 -- Bobby Deol is celebrating 30 years in the industry, but mentally, the actor still feels like he's in his 20s, fresh off his 1995 debut, Barsaat.
"I feel very blessed that I get to celebrate this day. I am at a loss for words. It feels like just yesterday when my first film, Barsaat, was going to release. Mentally, I don't think I have grown up though; I am still that immature 20-something-year-old kid!" the actor tells us.
After Barsaat, Bobby delivered multiple hits like Gupt (1997), Soldier (1998), and Bichhoo (2000), but his career soon saw a decline. He made a comeback with Race 3 (2018), followed by Animal (2023).
Recently, he was seen in, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, a series that has created significant buzz. The 56-year-old is pleased with the response, but remains humble: "I can't be arrogant about the milestone, though. To last in an industry for 30 years is a big task. But at the same time, the kind of love my family has always received from the audiences and from within the industry is remarkable."
Reflecting on the renewed acceptance in his second innings, he says, "It is strange, but everywhere I go now, people meet me and say, 'You know what, Bob? We feel happy that you are succeeding in life; it is like we have achieved something.' That's an amazing thing to say to someone. It's incredible to see how much people care about me."...
