India, May 12 -- Following a growing lineup of projects with filmmakers such as Imtiaz Ali, Sooraj Barjatya and Aditya Chopra, actor Sharvari, who made her Bollywood debut with Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) and gained wider attention with Munjya (2024), is reflecting on the moment that changed the course of her career. Currently promoting her upcoming film, Main Vaapas Aaunga, alongside Vedang Raina, Sharvari reveals she had once planned to pursue civil engineering before her parents encouraged her to consider acting seriously. "I never had to convince my parents; they were always convinced," says the actor, adding, "I had taken up science because my future plan was to pursue civil engineering since my father is a builder and my mother is an interior designer and architect. I thought I would follow that path because it felt familiar to me." Things shifted after the 28-year-old participated in a talent competition during college and started receiving audition calls. According to Sharvari, her parents recognised her passion for acting even before she openly acknowledged it herself. "One day, they asked me, 'Do you want to be an actor?' Everything changed in that moment because I never had the courage to admit it, even to myself," she says. "I used to dream about it every night. When they finally asked me that question, I simply said yes," Sharvari adds. She says exploring different genres (romance, action, thriller) at an early stage of her career comes with both "excitement and nervousness". "But this is exactly the phase you work towards, and I'm grateful to be in it," she ends....
