India, June 28 -- Amanda Seyfried has been vocal about her love for the Wicked Broadway musical, even auditioning to play Glinda in the movie adaptation. The actor has now revealed that she auditioned six times for the role. Amanda, who has two films, The Housemaid and Ann Lee in the pipeline, recently said, "[My audition] had to be just right. And I loved the role. I was busy, I barely had time to do it, but I made it work." Despite being in a position where she "no longer has to audition" for projects, the 39-year-old revealed that the passion she felt for Wicked pushed her to give it everything she had. "I worked my a** off for years and years and years on that music," the actor shared during a recent podcast appearance, adding, "I'm just competitive with myself in a really healthy way." The role eventually went to actor-singer Ariana Grande. Earlier, Amanda revealed that she had done a screen test and sung alongside actor-singer Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film. "It was moment in itself," she mused. Although things didn't work out, the actor said the experience was worth it: "Everything happens for a reason. I think the whole process also taught me how far I've come as a singer, which I really wanted to prove." However, it wasn't all a loss; the actor's audition process overlapped with her schedule for The Dropout (2022), based on the life of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. Her turn in the limited series would later help Amanda win her first Emmy Award. htc...
