Yuzi: I have never cheated in my life
India, Aug. 2 -- Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal admits that his divorce from content creator-choreographer Dhanashree Verma after a five-year marriage took a toll on him. "It (trouble in the marriage) was going on for a while. We decided that until we reached a point of no return, we wouldn't show anything [to the world]. We would just be like a normal couple on social media," Yuzi said.
The 35-year-old added that they were too focused on their respective careers, making it difficult to prioritise the relationship. "A relationship is like a compromise. If one gets angry, the other has to listen. Sometimes the nature of two people does not match. Two ambitious people can stay together. Everyone has their own life and goals. As a partner, you have to support it. You've worked for something for 18-20 years, you cannot leave it for a relationship," he said on Raj Shamani's YouTube channel.
He also spoke about being called a "cheater" during the divorce proceedings earlier this year. "I've never cheated in my life. When people don't know anything, they keep blaming me, so you start thinking [otherwise]," said the cricketer, who is rumoured to be dating RJ Mahvash.
Yuzi went on to admit that facing public scrutiny impacted his mental health: "I had suicidal thoughts, I was tired of my life. I used to cry for two hours and would only sleep for two hours. I got anxiety attacks. It went on for 40-45 days. I wanted a break from cricket. My family and Mahvash helped me during that phase."htc...
