Chandigarh, Jan. 7 -- In a first-of-its-kind initiative in India's power distribution sector, Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has pioneered the concept to operationally deploy women in frontline field roles spanning meter reading and bill distribution. Under this programme, CPDL has taken onboard 35 women across the city, marking a decisive shift in field operations with modified staffing patterns. CPDL has proposed the engagement of 60 women that accounts to 50% of frontline operational roles, of which over 35 have already been onboarded and are fully operational across the city.
