Chandigarh, April 17 -- A 43-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain near the busy Sector 20/30 light point on Tuesday evening. According to the FIR registered at Sector 19 police station, complainant Parminder Kaur, a resident of Sector 30-A, who works as a senior auditor in the Punjab accountant general's office, was returning home after shopping from the Sector 20-C market when the incident occurred. As she was crossing the road around 6:10 pm, an unidentified motorcyclist approached from the back and snatched her gold chain weighing approximately 9 grams. The victim raised the alarm, following which the accused briefly looked back, allowing her to get a glimpse of his face. She told police that she would be able to identify the snatcher if produced before her. The complainant's statement was recorded, and a case has been registered against an unknown person under Section 304 (snatching) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigators have started scanning footage of the closed-circuit television (CCTV)camera installed in the area and adjoining roads to trace the route taken by the accused....
