Chandigarh, Dec. 4 -- With no concrete assurance being given by the state health minister, Arti Singh Rao, the state action committee of Haryana Civil Medical Services (HCMS) Association, an umbrella organisation of government doctors in the state, on Wednesday announced that it would not back down and go for a complete shutdown of medical services on December 8 and 9. A HCMS spokesperson said that a meeting was held with the health minister on Wednesday to resolve the issue of direct recruitment of senior medical officers (SMOs) and implementation of modified assured career progression structure on the central government pattern.
