Wife, mother-in-law held for killing man
Hyderabad, June 24 -- A 32-year-old man, who got married last month, was found dead near an irrigation canal in Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Monday, adding that they have taken the victim's wife and mother-in-law into custody for allegedly conspiring his murder.
The victim, identified as Ganta Tejeswar from Gadwal district of Telangana, went missing on June 17. A day later, his brother Tejavardhan filed a missing persons complaint. "On Sunday morning, Kurnool police informed that his body was found near the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) canal in Sugalimetta, under Panyam police station," Gadwal inspector of police Tanguturi Srinivas said.
Based on the injuries found on Tejeswar's body, a case of murder was filed, police said and added that they began probing the role of the victim's wife Aishwarya and her mother Sujatha. Tejeswar married Aishwarya on May 18.
"According to Tejeshwar's family members, trouble started from the second day of the marriage, as Aishwarya was constantly speaking on the phone with some other person, ignoring her husband," a police officer said on condition of anonymity.
Tejeswar, who worked as a private land surveyor, got a call from some people from Kurnool for a land survey job on June 17, his brother said in the complaint. "When he did not return till the next day, his brother filed a police complaint," the officer added.htc...
