Waste mgmt in focus at Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School
Rara Sahib, March 13 -- On Wednesday, Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School, Karamsar, organised a guest lecture on "How to best utilise kitchen waste" as a tribute to the seventh Sikh guru, Har Rai. Environmentalist S Rajinder Singh Kalra, a member of the Green Thumb Organisation, shared his vision on waste management and ecological conservation. He emphasised the importance of terrace gardening and the use of bio enzymes for a greener future. He also highlighted the significance of tree planting to combat climate change and stressed the efficient utilisation of natural resources. He further encouraged households to adopt sustainable practices, such as composting kitchen waste, using organic fertilisers, and promoting self-sufficiency through home gardening. The event was attended by school management, including S Maninderjit Singh Benipal, captain Ranjit Singh, and principal Dhiraj Kumar Thapliyal.
