Two youths die in separate road mishaps in tricity
Panchkula/Mohali, Aug. 28 -- Two young men lost their lives in separate road accidents reported in Panchkula and Zirakpur on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a motorcycle crashed into the rear of a school bus on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar National Highway, near the Alipur Industrial Area, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist.
The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Krishant, a resident of Batwal village in Panchkula.
According to the police, Krishant was on his way home from a night shift at a factory in the Alipur Industrial Area.
At approximately 8 am on Wednesday, his motorcycle collided with the rear of a school bus. Krishant's head hit the bus during the collision, causing him to suffer severeinjuries.
Onlookers and passersby immediately informed the Barwala police post and took the critically injured Krishant to Civil Hospital, Sector 6.
However, he was declared dead by the doctors. Police noted that Krishant was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene, inspected the site, and took possession of the damaged motorcycle and the school bus. Based on a complaint from Krishant's brother, Hemant, Chandimandir police have begun the investigation.
The body was handed over to the family.
In another fatal accident, a 25-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding truck near Ambala-Chandigarh road, Zirakpur on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Dharmendra Kumar, a delivery boy and native of Uttar Pradesh, reportedly lost balance on the road before being run over by the truck.
Eyewitnesses said the truck driver fled from the spot, leaving Kumar grievously injured. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot....
