Two sentenced to 10-year RI in heroin trafficking case
Ferozepur, Nov. 13 -- A local court in Fazilka convicted two men - Angrej Singh, alias Laddu, and Ganesh Singh - in a heroin trafficking case and sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI), along with a fine of Rs.1 lakh.
According to information, the duo was arrested on January 28, 2023, by the special task force (STF), Mohali, after being found in possession of 518 grams of heroin.
The arrest followed a tip-off, and the police apprehended the accused at Mahuana bus stand in Fazilka, where they were allegedly waiting for a customer.
A case under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered at STF police station in Mohali. Investigations revealed that the accused were actively involved in the trade of narcotic substances.
