Two held with 332gm heroin in Panchkula
Panchkula, March 11 -- District police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers after recovering a total of 332 gm heroin in separate cases.
In the first case, a team of the detective staff arrested Karan, 34, a resident of Kharak Mangoli village, from the Chandimandir area on March 10. Police recovered 72 gm heroin from him. According to officials, the accused was roaming in the area on a motorcycle without a registration plate and was allegedly planning to sell the drugs.
Police records revealed that Karan had earlier been booked in five similar cases in Panchkula and Himachal Pradesh. The accused was produced in court on Wednesday and remanded to three-day police custody for further investigation.
In another case, a team of the crime branch arrested Tajinder Singh, alias Tanu, 20, a resident of Amritsar, for possessing 260 gm heroin. He was apprehended from Sector 21, Panchkula. He was produced before a local court on March 8 and sent to four-day police remand.HTC...
