Two held for spying for Pak, leaking sensitive info
BATHINDA, March 24 -- : The Muktsar district police have arrested two persons for allegedly being part of an espionage network and leaking sensitive information about defence activities to Pakistan-based agents.
The accused, Akashdeep Singh, alias Mintu, a resident of Maha Badhar village, and Balraj Singh, of Chibranwali village, were arrested on Saturday.
According to the information released on Monday, Gurwinder Singh, the in-charge of the Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) of Muktsar police, said that the accused had sent photos and videos taken during "SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2025" held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, last September.He said that the accused were receiving money for sharing sensitive information with the Pakistani handlers. "Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a car was intercepted near the Bathinda bypass road on March 21. During the investigation, it was revealed that their accomplice, Pritpal Singh, is lodged in jail for some other crime," said the CIA in charge. A case has been registered against them under Section 152 of the BNS and Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act....
