Chandigarh, Aug. 18 -- The Tiranga Yatra 2025, a two-day patriotic cycling expedition organised by the Cycling and Adventure Club, in collaboration with the Interact Club of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, was flagged off with great enthusiasm and national pride from the school campus. A determined team of 23 students and teachers set out on their bicycles, embarking on a meaningful journey from Chandigarh to Hussainiwala, Ferozepur, Punjab, to commemorate India's Independence Day and honour the valour of the nation's defenders-particularly the BSF soldiers who played a pivotal role in Operation Sindoor. The Yatra, a much-anticipated annual tradition of the school, aims to instil in students the values of patriotism, respect for national heritage, and gratitude towards the armed forces. Over the course of two days-14th and 15th August-the participants will cover around 240 km to reach the historic Hussainiwala Border. The team is carrying a sapling that will be planted at the BSF post near the border as a lasting symbol of peace and remembrance. Alongside this gesture, a special citation from the Director Education cum Senior Principal will be presented to the Commanding Officer of the BSF unit, conveying appreciation and gratitude for the courage, dedication, and unwavering service of India's border forces. A significant highlight of the journey will be a visit to the memorials of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru, where students will pay homage to the sacrifices of these iconic figures in India's freedom struggle. This journey to Hussainiwala marks the third Tiranga Yatra dedicated to honouring India's Bravehearts, following the first and second editions in 2023 and 2024, respectively, which took students to the War Memorial in Chandigarh. These early yatras laid the foundation for a tradition of patriotic tribute rides, inspiring gratitude for the armed forces and respect for national service and heritage. Vineeta Arora, director education cum senior principal, expressed immense pride in the initiative....
