Two arrested in Bathinda with illegal pistols, live cartridges
Bathinda, March 22 -- In a joint operation with the Bathinda police, the anti-gangster task force (AGTF) arrested two accused and recovered two illegal country-made .32-bore pistols along with magazines and four live cartridges from their possession, said director general of police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Saturday.
The accused have been identified as Jacky Kumar alias Jacky and Vikas Arora, both residents of different localities in Bathinda city. Investigators said Arora had a criminal background, including involvement in a domestic violence case.
In a press statement, the DGP said that the accused were allegedly planning to rob a businessman in Bathinda.
According to the deputy inspector general (AGTF) Gurmit Chauhan, the AGTF Bathinda team had received an input that suspects Jacky and Arora, who were planning to commit a robbery and illegal weapons, were seen near Mittal Mall in the Panchwati area in the city. Bathinda senior superintendent of police (SSP) Jyoti Yadav further stated in the press release that a case was registered against the accused under various sections of the Arms Act at Kotwali police station....
