Mohali, Oct. 15 -- A 20-year-old delivery man was killed after a truck hit his scooter from behind near Amayra City Centre on the national highway on Sunday night. The accident took place between 9 pm and 10 pm, police said. The victim, identified as Manpreet Singh, a resident of Badiya village, was working with Zepto and was returning home when the accident occurred. According to police, the truck, bearing registration number PB-06-K-2169, hit his scooter from the rear, causing him to fall on the road. He was rushed to the civil hospital in Kharar, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday. Manpreet's brother informed the police about the incident. The truck driver fled the spot, but was later traced and arrested. Police have impounded the vehicle and initiated further investigation.
