India, July 13 -- July 7: Sanjay Verma, 54, owner of a textile firm, was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne persons right outside his showroom in Abohar town at 10.15 am. July 8: Police arrested two men, accused of helping the assailants hide the murder weapon and their clothes. They were shot dead under mysterious circumstances less than an hour after the official announcement of their arrest. July 9: FIR states the duo was murdered by unknown persons contrary to senior police officials' original claim of their death in cross-fire during a police encounter.
