Trio fired 8-10 rounds at textile firm owner
India, July 13 -- July 7: Sanjay Verma, 54, owner of a textile firm, was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne persons right outside his showroom in Abohar town at 10.15 am.
July 8: Police arrested two men, accused of helping the assailants hide the murder weapon and their clothes. They were shot dead under mysterious circumstances less than an hour after the official announcement of their arrest.
July 9: FIR states the duo was murdered by unknown persons contrary to senior police officials' original claim of their death in cross-fire during a police encounter.
July 10: CCTV footage of the two suspects' movement released; autopsy of one suspect, Ram Rattan, held at Abohar civil hospital.
July 11: Autopsy of second suspect, Jaspreet, also conducted; three more accomplices, accused of harbouring the prime suspects, arrested from Bikaner.
July 12: Special investigation team constituted, investigation intensifies. Trio sent to police remand....
