India, Sept. 27 -- Between August 2024 and June 2025, the city welcomed 38,138 foreign visitors, slightly up from 37,532 the previous year, while domestic tourist numbers saw a remarkable surge to 10,24,876 from 6,89,897 in 2023-24. Cultural landmarks such as the Air Force Heritage Centre attract around 50,000 visitors annually, whereas according to deputy curator Seema Gera, the Government Museum and Art Gallery in Sector 10 draws nearly 1 lakh tourists every year. Other prominent tourist destinations in Chandigarh include the Capitol Complex, Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Sukhna Lake, Bird Park, Le Corbusier Centre in Sector 19 and Pierre Jeanneret House in Sector 5. Since July 2024, the UT administration has been working on a tourism policy, featuring various initiatives to enhance tourism's contribution to the city's economy. But over a year later, there has been no concrete progress....
