Toll plaza staff run over after row over Rs.170 in Faridabad
Gurugram, June 3 -- A toll plaza employee was critically injured after being allegedly run over by a car on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near Chhainsa on Saturday, following a heated argument over a Rs.170 road tax, police said on Monday.
The victim, 56-year-old Surender Singh, suffered multiple fractures and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Faridabad.
The scuffle broke out over toll fee. The victim asked the accused to pay the toll fee to which the later refused. When Singh tried to stop the accused from fleeing without paying tax, the accused pressed accelerator and mowed down Singh. He was rushed to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, then shifted to ESIC Hospital, where surgeries were conducted on his right leg from toe to hip.
Police said the man fled the scene, but has been traced and will be arrested soon. An FIR under relevant sections of BNS has been registered.htc...
