Thane, Nov. 22 -- A political slugfest erupted in Maharashtra on Friday over the death of a 19-year-old college student in Kalyan, who allegedly died by suicide after he was harassed for not speaking in Marathi on a local train, even as local police set up three special teams to investigate the incident. The student, a resident of Kolsewadi, was found dead in his room on Tuesday evening. According to the deceased's family, he allegedly died by suicide after a heated altercation with co-passengers in a crowded local train after he spoke in Hindi while requesting fellow commuters to move inside the train compartment. The ruling BJP on Friday attacked Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) counterpart Raj Thackeray for allegedly stoking a divide over language in the state. "Uddhav and Raj Thackeray have spread poison and tried to divide society in the name of language and regionalism. It is because of their policies that a Marathi youth had to lose his life," Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam said. In response, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar pointed to "BJP's divisive politics in the name of religion". "By shifting the blame of the youth's death on language politics, BJP is trying to garner support from both Marathis and non-Marathis," another Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said on anonymity. Meanwhile, Kolsewadi Police have formed three probe teams to probe into the incident.htc...
