Chandigarh, Nov. 14 -- The city is all set to come alive with colours, culture and celebration as the much-awaited three-day Chandigarh Carnival begins on Friday at the open ground opposite the Government Museum and Art Gallery in Sector 10. The festival will be inaugurated by UT home secretary Mandip Singh Brar, marking the start of a vibrant weekend packed with music, art and entertainment. The carnival promises something for everyone - from musical nights featuring Bollywood and Punjabi stars to art exhibitions, workshops and cultural showcases. The inaugural parade, with a colourful tableau by Government College of Arts students, will set the festive tone. A live band at7 pm will set the mood in the evening. Visitors can also explore art workshops led by artists from Chandigarh, Tripura, Assam, Delhi and even South Korea, featuring pottery, sculpture, portrait painting and printmaking from 10 am to 6 pm on all three days. Families can enjoy a cycle rally, marathon, amusement rides, food stalls and craft displays, along with exhibition stalls by government departments, daily from 10 am to 10 pm. The Government Museum and Art Gallery will also host exhibitions of paintings and video installations by renowned artists Devinder Shukla (India) and Jang Hee Mun (South Korea) from 11 am to 7 pm. A high-energy performance by Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann is planned at 7 pm on Saturday evening. The grand finale on Sunday will see Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya take the stage....
