Thieves target Punjabi actor's showroom, take away jewels
Mohali, Nov. 5 -- Jewellery worth crores was allegedly stolen from Jshine Jewellers, a showroom owned by Punjabi actor Kuljinder Sidhu and his brother, in Sector 66, Mohali.
According to the police, the theft came to light on Monday when the staff opened the store and found the main gate lock missing and the storeroom ransacked.
Vikram Sidhu, the actor's brother and business partner, told police that gold ornaments worth nearly Rs.2 crore were missing from the safe, which appeared to have been opened using professional techniques.
The accused also took away the DVR of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera to erase footage of the incident.
After receiving the complaint, a team from the IT City police station reached the spot. SHO Satwinder Singh said an FIR has been registered and forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene. "We are investigating all angles and checking nearby CCTV footage. The accused will be identified soon," he said....
