The Telegraph editor Sankarshan Thakur dies
New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- Veteran journalist and editor of The Telegraph Sankarshan Thakur, who was widely respected for his incisive political reportage, died at a Gurugram hospital on Monday after prolonged illness. He was 63. Thakur had been battling lung cancer and was on ventilator support at the hospital before his demise, people aware of the matter said. His passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from the media fraternity and political leaders.
Senior journalist and editor of The Telegraph newspaper, Sankarshan Thakur passed away today," PCI said in a social media post. "His sharp political analysis and unwavering commitment to the truth will be deeply missed." The Editors Guild of India also mourned his death, saying, "Mr Thakur's passing is a profound loss to Indian journalism. The Editors Guild, however, believes that his writings and professional craft will continue to resonate, serving as enduring benchmarks for younger journalists to emulate."...
