India, July 5 -- Neil Druckmann, co-showrunner of The Last of Us, is leaving the series to focus on his work at Naughty Dog, the studio behind the original game. He made the announcement in an Instagram post on Naughty Dog's official account: "With work completed on Season 2 and before development ramps up on Season 3, now is the right time to dedicate myself entirely to Naughty Dog and it's future projects including writing and directing our next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, along with my responsibilities as Studio Head and Head of Creative." Meanwhile, Halley Gross, who co-wrote the 2020 video game The Last of Us Part II and served as an executive producer and writer on the series, has also announced her departure from the show. This transition follows a divisive second season - which killed off the beloved lead Joel (Pedro Pascal) - that saw a slight drop in ratings overall, despite a strong start, according to The Hollywood Reporter. htc...
