Termination of IGMC sr resident revoked; RDA hails move
Shimla, Jan. 10 -- Resident Doctors Association Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla on Friday welcomed the orders regarding the revocation of the termination of Dr Raghav Narula.
RDA in a statement issued on Friday expressed gratitude to the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh for revoking the termination after a fair in depth enquiry as per assurance.
Furthermore, RDA highlighted that security gap analysis of IGMC Shimla is also underway with consideration of PANIC buttons and emergency security response team.
The incident, which occurred on December 22, involved Dr Nirula and 36-year-old Arjun Pawar from Chopal that had led to termination of services considering doctors behaviour as "inappropriate".
The doctors proceeded on strike for three days seeking revocation of the termination of services of Dr Raghav Naula, a senior resident in the department of pulmonary medicine at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital, after a video showing him in a physical altercation with a patient went viral.
In addition to his dismissal, the Shimla police had registered an FIR against the doctor under the relevant sections of the BNS.
The matter ended after eight days following a mutual agreement between the patient and the doctor....
