Teacher sensitisation workshop held at Gurukul Global School
Chandigarh, Sept. 15 -- A workshop was conducted by Urvashi Kakkar, Principal of Gurukul Global School, focusing on teacher sensitisation and the impact of words in the classroom.
The session highlighted how teachers, through their language and behaviour, shape not only the academic progress but also the emotional well-being of students. The principal emphasised the difference between harsh words that discourage and kind words that inspire, urging teachers to reflect on their daily interactions.
To deepen the learning, short videos were shown that illustrated the importance of empathy, positive reinforcement, and mindful behaviour in the teaching profession. These visuals helped teachers connect theory with real-world practice, leaving a lasting impression.
As part of the workshop, teachers participated in an insightful role-play activity where they enacted real-life classroom scenarios to understand how students perceive both encouragement and criticism. This interactive exercise created awareness about the subtle yet lasting influence of teachers' words. Another engaging activity involved teachers describing themselves with one adjective beginning with the first letter of their name.
