Tarn Taran man feared drown in Gobind Sagar Lake
Una, April 5 -- A man from Punjab was feared drowned in the deep waters of Gobind Sagar Lake in Himachal's Una district, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, Akashdeep, 24, a resident of Punjab's Tarn Taran area, was on his way to the Baba Balaknath Temple in Deotsidh when he stopped to wash his hands and feet in Gobind Sagar Lake on Friday evening. He lost his balance and fell into the water.
People present at the spot attempted to save him, but due to the depth of the lake, Akashdeep could not be located, and efforts are still on to trace him, police said.
Subsequently, Bangana Station House Officer Rohit Chaudhary arrived at the scene with a police team and launched a rescue operation with the assistance of locals.
However, there was no trace of Akashdeep, and the police suspended the rescue operation on Friday night as darkness fell.
On Saturday, the divers from Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Nangal in Punjab resumed the search and rescue operation, police said, adding that Akashdeep had not yet been located....
