Tanya Maniktala moves to Mumbai after seven years in Delhi
India, Nov. 9 -- A
fter spending seven years in the industry while living in Delhi, actor Tanya Maniktala has finally made the move to Mumbai. She shifted just before Diwali and is currently settling into her new home.
"I just thought it's time to get out of my comfort zone. Delhi is home, but Mumbai has given me so much warmth and welcomed me with open arms. I felt it was time to embrace that," she says.
While living in Delhi didn't affect her career much, Tanya admits she missed out on last-minute events and appearances. "Being in Delhi, I would get a little passive about such things. But now I'm more hands-on and part of everything that's happening," she adds.
Living independently for the first time, the actor says the experience is both exciting and overwhelming.
"There are a lot of firsts happening and they come with joy as well as nervousness. I'm learning to look after myself and I enjoy the independence, though I also miss the convenience of home, especially when it comes to food," she laughs.
On the work front, Tanya confirms that she is pairing up with Rajkummar Rao for an upcoming project.
"Even though it's not officially announced, the information has gotten out. I've worked hard for this and I'm grateful to be ready for this opportunity," she shares. As for reports of her replacing Ananya Panday in the Amrita Sher-Gil biopic, Tanya clarifies, "I have no idea where that came from. We have no information about any such project, so I can't comment on it."...
