India, April 11 -- T amil actor Vijay's upcoming film Jana Nayagan, has been leaked online. Clips from the film surfaced on social media on Thursday night and by Friday morning, HD prints of the full film had been uploaded to piracy sites. Later, the makers took to X, stating that they have issued a legal notice and will take action against anyone found circulating pirated content. The leak comes just ahead of Vijay's political entry and has rattled the Tamil film industry. It also follows a turbulent run for the film, as its release, initially scheduled for January 9, was delayed after the CBFC chairperson referred it to a Revising Committee following a complaint alleging that it violated religious sentiments. Fans of Vijay and industry insiders have reacted with anger to the leak (inset above). Cinema influencer Amutha Bharathi wrote on X, "A Rs.400-500 cr film just got leaked overnight! Toughest time for the producer, distributor and the whole team. They should have been more cautious."
