Tamannaah talks about being reduced to a 'pretty face'
India, Sept. 14 -- Tamannaah Bhatia, who has been in the film industry for more than 20 years, recently talked about tackling sexism - on screen and off - as her new show explores women in a male-dominated alcohol industry.
"People like it when women are seen, but they don't want to hear them. They like it when the woman is just there, but not really cerebrally adding anything to the table," says the 35-year-old. Tamannaah adds she has faced that judgment, too, while acting or doing a dance number.
The actor, who has been part of chartbuster tracks such as Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2 (2024), Nasha from Raid 2 and Nuvvu Kaavaalayya with Jailer (2023), says, "There is that judgement of 'ache ghar ki ladkiyan'," she says.
The actor elaborates further,"First of all, women have to see themselves as human beings. I have considered myself a human being first. I have not let the gender have any effect on me. While I always heard these things, I never really let them affect me. But, I did have to navigate the 'aap achi dikho na, aap apna opinion kyun share kar rahi hain'."...
