take down posts linking '22 pauri murder to bjp leader: delhi HC
New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- The Delhi high court on Wednesday directed the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to take down within 24 hours social media posts linking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and the party's Uttarakhand in-charge Dushyant Gautam to the 2022 murder of Pauri Garhwal receptionist Ankita Bhandari.
Dealing with a defamation suit filed by Gautam, a bench of justice Mini Pushkarna passed the directions against the two parties, actor Urmila Sanawar, former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore, and Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal to take down the posts targeting Gautam as the "VIP" linked to Bhandari's murder.
"The defendants number 1 to 9, their representatives and all persons are their representatives from uploading content which names impute that the plaintiff is the alleged VIP in the Ankita Bhandari matter," the court said....
