Sunny Singh: For me, gud waali chai after lunch is a must
India, May 21 -- For actor Sunny Singh, chai is more than just a beverage - it's a "comfort drink". On International Tea Day today, the 39-year-old tells us about his love for chai, calling it a "stress buster" and a "conversation-starter". He shares, "Chai makes you feel relaxed. Whether you're working, talking to your friends at a get-together or on a staycation in the hills, chai can be a conversation-starter, kyunki chai pe charcha hoti hi hai."
Sunny remembers having tea for the first time during a family wedding in Punjab: "I was 16 when I had my first chai. I was in Jalandhar for a cousin's wedding. I had gud waali chai. I loved it so much that I had about four cups in a day. Even now, while shooting, I have tea with gud after lunch."
Ask him about his perfect cup of tea, and he shares, "Masala chai is my favourite - milk, elaichi, adrak with gud. I love it even more if it is served in a kulhad. Whenever I go on long drives, I always stop and have chai. There is nothing like dhaabe waali chai."
Reflecting on another cherished memory, the actor shares: "In 2003, my friends and I were selected for a photo shoot. I got Rs.2,000 for that modelling assignment. It was my first paycheck. So, we went to Marine Lines [in Mumbai], had tea, bun and snacks."...
